The educare setting is language rich and home-based. The whole house is registered for use by a vast age range of children. We use the Montessori philosophy to guide our practice within the EYFS. Montessori practice involves less formally scripted play allowing time for play-based educational experiences. Our environment is quieter, inviting children to explore and investigate with uninterrupted time for the children to see themselves as engineers, physicists, storytellers, musicians, the choices are endless.

Our environment is re-sized, just a little, to leverage more special moments and avoid achievable ones. We take time to get to know each child individually (their unique strengths, challenges and idiosyncrasies), taking time to listen to the children’s stories, laugh with them, get down on the floor with them and be respectful of them (we do not deliver calibrated doses of highly scripted, one-size-for-all instruction.

We support the development of more complex skills such as symbolic thinking and casual inference. We support the development of secure attachments and deep friendships using warm environments that elicits inquiry and problem-solving whilst engaging in multiple learning domains simultaneously. The children are encouraged to observe, question, explore and reflect.

Children have open access to a secure, well equipped, outdoor play area. I provide both planned and spontaneous activities and outings. Nutritional snacks are on offer. Please enquire regarding current vacancies on a weekly basis. Names and deposits are accepted.

I am qualified with Early Years Professional Status and have a First Class combined Honours Degree in Early Years Care and Education and Special Educational Needs with Disabilities Studies. More recently I have attained a Montessori Teaching Certificate. I work alongside a co-minder assistant who has completed her ICP.

I have established very close links with schools in Littleborough village and am able to drop of and collect depending upon current demand. I accept children aged from birth to 11 years and children 2 to 3 and 4 years old for the 15 hour flexible entitlement and 30 hour funded hours, enabling them to feed directly in to reception class from the Montessori home-based intimate environment.
