About
Family Hubs provide a range of support services for families with children aged 0-19 or 0-25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
We help you and your family through a range of different support and also provide the opportunity for you to attend groups and courses at the centre. We are linked to other local services such as the Family Information Service, health, adult care, SEND teams and Job Centre Plus. You can access help from professionals including midwives, health visitors and the family learning team.
Monday
Midwife Clinic
To book an appointment with a midwife see Badger Notes self-refer your pregnancy to NCA.
Bonding with Baby 10am – 11am
Enjoy simple, gentle and playful activities to help build strong relationships with your baby. Learn about how babies develop and how you play the most important part of all as their parent.
Baby Massage with Bistro 1pm – 2pm
A course for parents/carers and their babies to learn massage techniques and its importantance for baby’s health and development. Suitable for non-mobile babies.

Spotland Library Story and Singing Session 1pm – 2pm
A fun singing and story session, suitable for children aged 0-5 years.
Tuesday
Bump to Baby pre-birth parenting course 9.30am - 11.30am
Antenatal session for parents to be from 16 weeks pregnant. A 3 week course topics include; Bonding and secure relationship building, Safe Sleeping and Baby equipment.
Baby Sensations 1pm - 2pm
A session based on five to Thrive key activities; Respond, Cuddle, Relax, Play, talk which promotes healthy brain development through sensory play. Suitable for non-mobile babies.
Happy Talk Plus 1pm – 2pm
A 6 week course to support your child’s speech and language. For children aged 2 years and above.

Weaning Advice 2.15pm – 2.45pm
Gain hints and tips on how to prepare foods and what foods to avoid.
Wednesday
Safenet drop in session 9.15am – 12.30pm
Safenet provide essential support for victims and survivors of domestic abuse. Alternatively you can ring 0300 303 3581 option 3 for confidential help, advice and support.
Wellcomm Assessments (various times and dates)
If you are concerns about your child’s speech and communication development then please speak to a member of staff to book an assessment.
Thursday
Baby Play 9.30am – 11am
A session supporting your baby to develop language and communication skills whilst having fun and exploring.
Messy Play 1.30pm – 3pm
A session in which your child can explore different textures. Food will be used so please speak to a member of staff if your child has any allergies. Suitable for children 0-5 years.
Friday

Sensory Seekers 10am – 12pm
Does your child struggle in a busy environment? This session offers a calm, soothing, low stimulating environment. Parents/Carers can share experiences and give each other help and advice.
Play and Learn Dough Disco 1pm – 3pm
Learn through play using the indoor and outdoor environment to get children school ready. Dough Disco exercise for the fingers to improve fine motor control and gross motor skills. Doing these simple, fun exercises will help your child prepare for writing. But most of all its fun. Suitable for children aged 0-5 years.
