We are a school for pupils with generic learning difficulties across the area. Our school is co-located with Hamer Primary School and Hamer Sure Start Children’s Centre.
Following the closure of High Birch, Birtle View, Alderman Kay, Innes, and Rydings special schools, staff and primary aged pupils from each school amalgamated into the new ‘state of the art’ purpose built environment, forming Springside Special School.
We are extremely proud of the achievement of all our pupils and staff. Our school motto is to ‘believe, enjoy, achieve, together’ and we encourage all members of our school community to set high standards in whatever they do and aim to achieve these.
Learners often join us in the Early Years with a wide range of different needs and bring a wonderful mix of interests and personalities. When learning with us the learners are cared for, valued, challenged and supported to achieve the very best they can.
