Healthy Young Minds (formerly CAMHS)

10 percent of children and young people (aged 5 to 16 years) have a clinically diagnosable mental health problem, yet 70 percent of children and adolescents who experience mental health problems have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age.

What we do

Pennine Care’s Healthy Young Minds services (previously known as CAMHS) are committed to providing a comprehensive and targeted intervention service, delivered in the heart of our communities, which positively aims to promote the emotional and psychological wellbeing of our children and young people.

The CAMHS directorate, including Healthy Young Minds community services and our Hope and Horizon inpatient units, are committed to developing our connections with other local services such as social care, paediatrics, education, health and the voluntary sector.

How to access the service

A referral is needed via another professional. This should be from the person or agency that knows your child best and can give the best and most information.

HMR Early Attachment Service - Nurturing Little minds

We help with parent infant mental health matters. Our team is made up of various professionals who have expertise in supporting parent infant mental health.

We offer lots of different types of help advice and support. Sometimes we will support your midwife or health visitor to support you and sometimes we might work directly with you. Our aim is to improve parent and infant mental health and support healthy early relationships.

It is for parents and infants during pregnancy and up to the child’s 2nd birthday who are experiencing mental health difficulties or have learning difficulties and parent infant relationship difficulties. You must live or or be registered with a GP in the Rochdale borough (which include Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale). The service can also provide advice and support to parents/carers and anyone who works with families antenatally and up to the child's 2nd birthday.

You can access support from us by speaking to your GP, midwife, health visitor or any other professional who is supporting you and your family. They will ask for your consent to speak to us or submit a referral on your behalf.
