Kashmir Youth Project (KYP)

We are dedicated to helping individuals obtain the services they require to meet and fulfil industry and personal needs. We offer a high level of practical experience, know-how and a network of industry contacts. We deliver apprenticeships, skills support, pre-employment, GCSE and integration programmes.

In line with our aims, we provide an on-site day nursery (Little Gems) as well as an elders day care centre, effectively removing two of the largest barriers to employment.

For those seeking self-employment as an alternative, KYP offers free business support services to residents of Rochdale and also provides managed workspace, conference and training facilities for new and existing businesses. KYP also provides an advice and welfare service and community facilities for residents and community groups.

We work together in helping Afghan refugees who have come into the United Kingdom and subsequently now being settled into Greater Manchester.

We support, provide advice and promote their settlement into the UK. We will undertake integration with them to help them achieve their aspirations as well as support and targeted outreach work to help with key factors such as health, employment, housing, education and training.

Our key workers will establish contact with families and deliver an active role in their successful resettlement through initiatives involving both the communities of new arrivals and the wider community. Having already worked extensively with asylum seekers and refugees, we have a proven track record of best practice and what is involved in supporting these families.

We are looking to also reach areas outside of Rochdale, including Oldham, Bury and some parts of North Manchester.
