We are a northern charity supporting people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities to go beyond expectations.

Our support, advice and training enables people and their families to build skills, develop confidence, help each other and look forward to a more positive future.

Children and families

In Greater Manchester our children and families team specialise in working with children and parents with sight loss, often with complex needs and additional disabilities. Services include:

Services in the community

We work with people of all ages living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities. We aim to empower them to take steps to change their lives for the better.

Our centres across Greater Manchester offer a range of services to provide visually impaired people with an improved quality of life. We offer an online and phone service to support you from your home.

Groups and courses

Other services

The other services we provide include:

  • Specialist college - Through our personalised approach to education, learning and care we empower young people aged 16 to 25 living with a disability to progress and live life the way they want.
  • Arts and crafts group - Through our workshops, people living with a range of disabilities discover their talents, put them into practice and realise their full potential.
  • Housing and support - Henshaws enables people of all ages living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities to live more independently.
