About

Family Hubs provide a range of support services for families with children aged 0-19 or 0-25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We help you and your family through a range of different support and also provide the opportunity for you to attend groups and courses at the centre. We are linked to other local services such as the Family Information Service, health, adult care, SEND teams and Job Centre Plus. You can access help from professionals including midwives, health visitors and the family learning team.

Monday

No sessions 1st April 

Health visitor 9.15am – 11am

Appointments only. Please ring the Health Visitors on 0161 206 7729.

Play and learn 9.15am – 11.15am

Learn through play using the indoor and outdoor to get children ‘School Ready’. You can talk to practitioners to get advice and support on a range of child focused issues. Suitable for children aged 0 – 5 years.

Baby massage 9.30am – 11am

A weekly course which will strengthen your relationship and help you bond with your baby. Find out how relaxing and nurturing massage can improve your baby’s social, emotional and language development. Suitable for non-mobile babies.

Tuesday

Antenatal Clinic (Booking Appointment)

To book an appointment with a midwife see Badger Notes self-refer your pregnancy to NCA.

Messy play 9.15am – 11am (no session 3rd and 23rd April)

A session based on the Five to Thrive key activities: Respond, Cuddle, Relax, Play, Talk, and promoting attachment with your baby through sensory play. Suitable for children aged 0-5 years.

Baby and me 9.30am – 10.30am (starting 9th April)

A 6 week course supporting baby bonding. Enjoy simple, gentle and playful activities to help build strong relationships with your little one. Learn about how babies develop and how you play the most important part of all.

Breastfeeding social group 10.45am – 12pm

If you are pregnant and interested in breastfeeding, need answers to breastfeeding questions or just want to meet other breastfeeding mums, come along to one of our breastfeeding social drop in sessions.

New outreach junction library session 1.30pm -2.30pm

Come and join us for a story, singing and craft session. Suitable for children aged 0-5 years.

Wednesday

SEND sessions 9.30am -11am

These specialist Play and Learn session are available with an Early Years Practitioner on hand to offer support and guidance plus share tips and advice with parents. Suitable for children aged 18 months – 5 years. 

Wellcomm assessments various times and dates.

If you have concerns about your child’s speech and communication development then please call any centre to make an appointment with any of our early years team.

Thursday

Baby sensations 9.30am – 10.30am (Please arrive for 9.30am)

A session based on Five to Thrive key activities; respond, cuddle, relax, play and talk promoting healthy brain development through play. Suitable for non-mobile babies.

Friday
