Art and Craft Sessions to Reduce Isolation In the Over 50's
We do lots of different activities, usually covering a new topic every week or sometimes we might do a project. Each session is something new, the sessions are easy and fun. I make sure everyone who enters can do the session.
How it works
The point of the sessions is not the finished piece its the relaxation from creating, the chatting within the group, learning new skills in a subtle and fun way.
In the new year we will be doing some mosaics, etching, painting in different mediums (acrylic, watercolour and oils). The group is a chance to spend some time practicing some relaxing arts and crafts in good company. Anyone over the age of 50 is welcome as are carers and any other guardians or professionals who may wish to attend.
Each session has all equipment and materials provided as well as light refreshments.
I also carry out pop-up events where I will go to different places if the older people are unable to travel to a session. I pay for this work by obtaining private work and funding the groups from this.
