Enlightening are currently piloting a scheme through Ambition for Ageing - “Time to Shine”. This is a project that targets older people and aims to improve their health and wellbeing and reduce/prevent isolation.
Many older people are dealing with health conditions that can be prevented, managed or cured through diet, lifestyle and use of an Airnergy Machine, Low Level Laser Therapy Unit and Far Infrared Sauna.
We will also offer a variety of treatments including:
- The Bowen Technique
By providing older people with balanced information and treatments we will reduce the effects of conditions such as Macular Degeneration, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), arthritis and obesity.
These treatments do not have the risks of drugs and chemicals and are completely natural; they are non-invasive.
We will provide a programme that enables older people to improve their core strength, flexibility and coordination.
The project aims to:
- Improve social, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing
- Empower older people to take control of and responsibility for their lives
- Promote lasting change
- Reduce isolation
Happy Families - Fun pool sessions for 0-4 year olds and their parent/carers, specifically but not exclusively children with Autism and related conditions and children in care (especially short-term Foster care) and home educated 4-18 year olds, specifically but not exclusively children with Autism and related conditions.
Tiddlers Pool Sessions - Lots of toys and baby floats available so parent/carers and babies can build confidence in the water.
Baby Mindful Sessions - Supports the natural development of the baby by using activities that gently stimulate and calm them, whilst encouraging confidence and awareness along with their cognitive, communicative, social, emotional and physical development. It is interactive and fun; the baby benefits from the activities but both parent/carer and the child benefit from the relaxing, bonding experience – it is quite magical.
Sensory Swim - Will be led by a qualified swimming teacher. Enhance a regular swim session by dimming the main lighting and introducing coloured lighting and sensory toys in to the pool.
Fun Swim - Includes Floats and Toys, Water Walkers and our Wobbly Obstacle course. These are particularly good for physical fitness, self-awareness and proprioception. It also brings about a huge sense of achievement when a child/young person completes the course whilst building resilience in the process.
