Kooth.com - Free online support for young people
Kooth is an online counselling and emotional wellbeing platform for children and young people, accessible through mobile, tablet and desktop and free at the point of use.
We provide emotional support and wellbeing services to young people aged 11 to 25 via email or through our live chat service. Young people can also receive support from other young people on our moderated forums and access self help materials on our online magazine.
Get help advice and support including:
- You can talk to us about anything

- Sexual health and sexuality
- Anxiety stress
- Eating disorders
Counselling involves talking to a trained person who will listen to what you are saying, try to understand what things are like for you, and help you find ways to deal with your situation.
- It is private and confidential.
- Counsellors won't tell you what to do.
- They listen and try to understand.
- They try to help you see your problems in a different way.
- They try to help you find a way to help yourself.
At Kooth we have counsellors who have been specially trained to work online with young people.
The service is committed to complying with the current BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Sometimes people don't need counselling but do need advice, support or information - our counsellors will do that too. We can also refer you on to other agencies in your area who can give you specialist support and advice.
The money that is used to pay for all the people that run Kooth comes from local authorities and the NHS (National Health Service).
Luckily for us, some of these organisations wanted to help young people by giving them a website which gives helpful information, counselling and support and a way to access other services in your area you may not know about and we called it Kooth.
The more young people we help, the more chance there is that the money will be available in future years to keep Kooth going.
