Family Hubs provide a range of support services for families with children aged 0-19 or 0-25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We help you and your family through a range of different support and also to provide the opportunity for you to attend groups and courses at the centre. We are linked to other local services such as the Family Information Service, health, adult care, SEND teams and Job Centre Plus. You can access help from professionals including midwives, health visitors and the family learning team.

Monday

No sessions 1st April 

Antenatal clinic (Booking Appointment)

To book an appointment with a midwife see Badger Notes self-refer your pregnancy to NCA.

Baby sensations 9.45am – 10.30am

A session based on the Five to Thrive principles; respond, cuddle, relax, play and talk which promotes healthy brain development through sensory play. Suitable for non-mobile babies.

Rhythm and rhyme 11am – 11.45am

An active session which supports development of communication using songs, games and rhymes. Suitable for children aged 0-5 years.

SEND sessions 1pm -2.30pm (No session 8th April)

These specialist Play and Learn sessions are available with an Early Years Practitioner on hand to offer support and guidance plus share tips and advice with parents. Suitable for children aged 18 months - 5 years.

Bump and baby pre-birth parenting course 5.30pm – 7.30pm

Antenatal session for parents to be from 16 weeks pregnant. A 3 week course. Topics include: Bonding and secure relationship building, Baby led feeding, Safe sleeping and Baby equipment, Caring for baby and practical activities including bathing and dressing baby.

Tuesday

Citizens advice bureau (CAB) 9.30am – 11.30am

For pregnant parents and those who have a child aged 0-19, or have a child aged up to 25 with a disability or long term health condition.

A six week course for 2 years old plus to support your child’s speech and language.

Baby messy play 10am – 11.30am (No session 9th and 23rd April)

Learn through play using the indoor and outdoor environment and get your children school ready. You can talk to the staff to get advice and support on a range of child focused issues. Suitable for children aged 0-2 years.

First words together course 10.30am – 11.30am

Join us in the library for this 5 week course with activities designed to support speech, language and communication. Suitable for babies from birth to 24 months.

Baby massage – 2 sessions available

A weekly course which will strengthen your relationship and help you bond with your baby. Suitable for non-mobile babies.

Elklan lets talk 9.30am-11.30am (New course starting 10th April)

This is a 6 week course for parent and carers designed by speech experts. The couse explains how your child’s language and communication develops though play. Creche available. Suitable for children aged 0 – 5 years.

Reading friends, mums, bumps and babies 1pm – 2pm (10th April)

Held in the library on the second Wednesday each month.

Toddler aerobics 2.30pm – 3.30pm

Come along to an action packed session. Join in with ring games, rhymes, songs and dance. Meet other parents whilst developing your child’s physical skills. Suitable for children aged 18 months – 5 years.

Thursday

Baby play and wellcomm 10-am-11.30am

A session supporting baby to develop language and communication skills whilst having fun exploring. Wellcomm language assessment included in the session. Suitable for babies aged 6-18 months.

Baby and me 10.30am-11am (New course starting 4th April)

A 6 week course supporting Baby Bonding. Enjoy simple, gentle and playful actives to help build strong relationships with your little one. Learn about how babies develop and how you play the most important part of all. Suitable for babies aged 0-4 months.

Breastfeeding social group 1pm – 2.30pm

Call in for a relaxed and informal chat for advice and support for issues relating to breastfeeding.

Tuff tray toddlers 1pm -2.30pm

Learn through play using our indoor and outdoor area and to get children school ready.  Come along to a session where the Tuff Tray is the focus.  Expand your child’s imagination and fine motor skills. Suitable for 18 months – 5 years.

Friday

Webster Stratton 9.30am-11.30am

An evidence based early intervention programme for parents of children aged 2-8 years which aims to reduce child behaviour difficulties, increase parent’s confidence and improve parent/child interactions. This is a 14 week programme run for 2 hours each week. Crèche available.

Boogie babies 10.45am – 11.45am

Come along to the library and enjoy nursery rhymes and actions with your baby supporting early communication skills. A session where you can meet other parents whilst bonding with your baby. Suitable for children aged 0-18 months.

Healthy baby eaters 12pm – 1.30pm (No session 5th April)

Come along and let your child enjoy some healthy cooking and tasting. Suitable for babies aged 6-18 months.

Storytime 1.30pm – 2pm followed by crafty tales 2.30pm – 3pm (26th April)

Each week come along, listen to a story in Langley library then join is in the early years room to make props to take and act out the story at home. Suitable for children aged 0-5 years.
